SHRSD utilizes the SchoolMessenger notification system to notify parents and staff of school closings, delayed openings, emergencies, etc. ONLY the contact numbers and email addresses that have been provided to the District which are listed in our student information system for notifications will receive an early phone call, email and/or text message informing them of delayed openings or closings soon after a decision has been made. This message will also be posted to the District website www.shrsd.org and be syndicated to the SHR Facebook page.
If you do not receive this notification or want to make changes to whom/how notices are received, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your request. Be sure to add a callback number in case we need to speak to you in greater detail.
In addition to receiving this automated call you can also use the following methods to check for delays or closings:
1. Go to our district website SHRSD.ORG for closing/delay messages on the home page.
2. Check the SHR Facebook page - Be sure to LIKE us for ease of use!
3. Call the District Office at (609) 397-1888, for a special recording.
Delayed Opening Info:
School will begin two hours late during all delayed openings unless otherwise specified. Bus runs for delayed openings will also begin two hours late. Therefore, students should expect their bus to pick them up two hours later than their normally scheduled pickup time.
Backup Emergency Phone Line:
In the event of a major area power failure or circumstance that knocks out our Internet and/or Phone System, some or all of the District's phone numbers may not work. We currently have a backup phone line that our phone system should failover to in situations like this. If our phone systems are down and your call is an urgent emergency ONLY, please try us at 609-397-8088. If necessary we will publish additional information to our District and/or School websites to inform our parents/community further regarding methods of calling in.
